How To Review My Books

Many of you have commented how much you love my book, Campfire in the Basement. Thank you so much. I enjoy and appreciate all of your comments.

Many of you have asked how to leave a book review.
We got some help with this explanation and hope it helps. Reviews are a big deal for authors, so if you can leave a review, thank you.

There are several places where reviews can be left for books.

Write a Review on Goodreads:

  1. Go to my author page on Goodreads:
  2. Select the star rating, 5 is the best rating, 1 is the poorest rating
  3. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in
  4. Complete your review and submit it!

Here are some examples of reviews for Campfire in the Basement:

Here is how to do a book review on Amazon:

  1. Go to my author profile on Amazon, click here:
  2. Click on the book you would like to review
  3. Scroll down to the reviews section
  4. Click ‘Write a Customer Review’; if you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in.
  5. Amazon will prompt you to choose stars (1-5, poorest to best) and to write a review.
Amazon will not post the review until it makes sure it is reviewed prior to being posted.

How to Write a Review:

A Book Review can be as short or as long as the reviewer chooses to write. It can be a few words like “This was a great book” or “Highly recommend” as long as a book summary, including favorite scenes and plots.

If you can, it would be nice if the review could be a few sentences. Perhaps something like this:

I really enjoyed Campfire in the Basement. It was witty and had moments that made me laugh out loud. I think my friends would really enjoy it. Great gift idea!

If you have any questions about where or how to review, let us know, and we will find out the answers.

Thank you,
Darrell L. Pedersen
